Born and raised in a town between two cities (San Nicolas) in the Province of Ilocos Norte, is a young dreamer named Rocewell Carl Corpuz or you can usually call me “JAO”. Studying Fine Arts major in Industrial Design at the University of the Philippines , Diliman, Quezon City. I am the fourth among the five children of my parents. I graduated from San Nicolas National High School main campus. Having courage and passion as my foundation , I have been a young artist in our town. I have competed in different art competitions , have shown my talent in some cultural shows and earned for living at the age of 13.

My enthusiasm towards arts is alway a plus for me especially during my junior and senior high school . I am always chosen to represent my school in the UP namnama on-the-spot poster making competition and hails as first placer for five consecutive years. I also joined the Patalasan Lahi in UP Diliman when I was in Grade 10 and Grade 11, I also bagged the championship for five consecutive years in the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) hosted Damili Festival sculpture making contest in our town.

Being part of the UPCFA (University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts) is a big dream to me and I hope that the limit of my standard today will grow. I want to show to people that arts are as important as science. This is my driving principle and this is the path I want to take.
