This is a cultural exercise of an artistic community in the academia. The curators may not share the statements and sentiments of all those exhibited. However, in the spirit of academic freedom, free speech and freedom to create warranted by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Art.19 and 27) and the Philippine Constitution (Art. XIV, Sec.2), the organizers of this project did not alter, replace or exclude any work as submitted except for minor technical editing to ensure a more efficient viewing of the exhibit.
The curators asked: How do we weave these two historical moments (arrival of Spanish colonizers and Diliman Commune) within our current collective challenges? What have we learned from them?
